Hi, my name is Rachel Smith, am 52 years old and I am the proud owner of Beauty and Beyond. I launched the business over 25 years ago, after leaving my job as a full-time Personal Assistant in London, to concentrate on beauty and holistic therapy. I originally trained at Barnfield College under ITEC and have continued to increase my qualifications and further my knowledge, particularly as the industry is changing and moving so quickly.

I worked as a mobile therapist for 20 years and during lockdown I decided that I wanted to offer my clients a home based salon dedicated to them. In 2021 I set up my fully equipped treatment room in my home in Chiswell Green, St Albans with parking available (no restrictions apply). In addition, I still offer a mobile service for people that are unable to come to me but these are limited so please enquire before booking. I have a minimum charge of £50 for mobile appointments.

At the salon I offer a personal yet professional service in a dedicated relaxing environment. My number one goal is for you to enjoy your experience in my salon and for you to leave feeling completely refreshed and happy.

I offer an extensive range of treatments including Dermalogica prescriptive facials, Clinicare Enzyme facials, Clinicare skin peels, Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, manual lymphatic drainage massage, pregnancy massage, reflexology, waxing, microneedling and more.

I am very passionate about skincare, particularly as it is growing faster than any other part of the beauty industry. I have accumulated a large amount of experience with skincare and the wide range of products available. I offer a free consultation, always focusing on the integrity of your treatment and results. I do not sell any skincare products, so all advice given is unbiased.
I pride myself on working with the industry's leading brands across all of our services which include Dermalogica and Clinicare - both are leading experts in applied scientific cosmeceuticals. My Clinicare skin peels are excellent for concerns such as pigmentation, acne, fine lines etc whilst the enzyme facial is a results orientated facial that provides an immediate boost to skin with no downtime.

My products are Vegan and not tested on animals. I have joined the Green Salon Scheme which shows that I am taking positive steps to keeping the environment safe for future generations.

I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and The Guild of Beauty. I have an enhanced DBS certificate which allows me to work with special needs and elderly people.

Bookings can be made through my online booking system, text, email, phone or WhatsApp. My booking system closes 24 hours before so please call me/text me for book on the day appointments. A 50% deposit or payment in full is required for all new clients.

Payment can be made by cash, card or BACS.
​
I love my work and pride myself on carrying out beauty treatments to the highest of standards and am committed to meeting all of my customers' needs. As a result, a high percentage of my business is from repeat customers and referrals.
All male clients must be booked by a female.
